Cashes Green put in another strong team performance with goals from Gilby, Counter, a brace from Cashes Man of the Match Wylie, Clutterbuck and two own goals to record a 7-0 win over a determined Draycott team. Matthew Gilby set the home team on their way when Bailey Clutterbuck played a square ball for Gilby to slot home. The lead was almost doubled when Callum Parry, receiving the ball just inside his own half unleashed a shot that the Draycott keeper just managed to turn over. However it was not long after when Kristian Wylie found the net to make it 2-0. Further goals nearly came when Gilby shot just wide and Counter hit the crossbar. The crossbar was involved in Cashes third goal when Clutterbuck, after some excellent individual work saw his shot come back off the crossbar and fall into the path of Wylie whose shot found the back of the net. Cashes scored their fourth as half time approached when Clutterbucks cross was met by Counter to shoot and score. Shortly into the second half, Luke Eckersall hit the post following a wonderfully floated ball from the right almost 20 yds out and further Cashes pressure led to chances for Jack Rachael and Lewes Johnston hitting the post. The fifth goal came when Draycott, in trying to defend a corner from Wylie, headed the ball into their own goal for 5-0. Another Wylie corner led to the sixth goal, as the ball landed for Rachael whose shot came back off the crossbar to Clutterbuck whose first shot hit the post but made no mistake in the follow up. The final goal came as another Cashes corner was turned in by Draycott in the final minutes of the game to seal the victory as third place Cashes try to put pressure on Kings Stanley in second. |
