A quiter saturday was had in the morning with Jim not having a game for Stourport and Matt still injured with torn fibres in his left knee , so Joe was taken to his training at Redhill school for 10am and i then went over hagley park to help with the u7s training with Alecs age group . The training finished at midday and Karen went to pick Joe up at his training , after helping to clear the pitches we met back at home for our sausage sarnies to get ready for the England game .
Sun morning with the clocks going forward was a bit hectic with Jim being picked up at 9am with him playing at Studley in a game they should win whilst Joe had to meet at midday for his 2 o clock ko , and myself , my game was kicking off at Wolverly against top of the league. So off we all went off leaving Matt at home kicking his heals , because of his injury , with karen and little alec.We met back at the house at mid afternoon with Jim having a disappointing draw , myself pulling a hamstring and having to come off after 5 mins and then being walloped , But Joe won 3 - 0 taking his team to joint top of the central warwickshire league div 1 with 3 games remaining , win those 3 games and they get promoted to the prem div of the top league in the midlands (only a few hagley teams have ever achieved that !!)
March /April is a difficult time with promotions/ relegation battles , cup finals and semi finals , and contract and release time for all clubs and players , also the players are generally becoming more tired and more prone to injuries
Training becomes more intense and the managers and coaches start to feel the pressure.
The week starts off with Alec and Joe training on mon, Jim and Alec training on tues and i had to take Matt to see the Birmingham City physio for an hour from 6 till 7pm .Matt very disappointed since he was told he could not train or play for another week and hence will miss the Chelsea game.Wed night Matt couldnt train , Jim was poorly and couldnt train but Joe insisted he went to his even though we tried to persuade him not to so the whole family could have a night off and settle down to watch the England game.
We have just received the easter training scedules for all the boys and there is no let up with games and training coming thick and fast every day varying between mornings afternoons and evenings
