A mad weekend for Karen with me away with 90 lads in oakhampton
Saturday morning jim went to play for stourport swifts and won 2-1 , matt didnt train due to him having a poorly toe ( who does he think he is gary lineker ) im sure if i had been at home he would have played , just playing up to his mum i suspect. Joe and Alec went to there normal training at 2 different parks , karen was run off her feet. The family and i then watched the baggies get walloped by chelsea in 2 different destinations communicating by text every time chelsea scored ( too many txts though).
Sun morning matt didnt play (poorly toe again) , jim and joe went off to there important cup games !!!. Joe tells me that they were 1-0 up till the last 20 mins when he was taken off and they then conceded 4 goals . Jims game was a real ding dong cup match 1-1 after full time , 1-1 after extra time and 5-5 after penalties and now to sudden death. All mothers dare not to watch with all fathers fists clenched as there sons took the pens. Unluckily we lost after the 3rd sudden death ( many tears - and that was from the dads ha ha ) Again many consolation beers helped the pain
The normal weekly routine started again with training every night for the hanson household followed by lashings of tea and toast as each of them arrive back home. Its thurs again and the weekend is upon us with a horrible cold snowy weather forecast from tomorrow ....... what will it bring !
13th November
Now back and moving again following my chronic back problem.
The weekend started off on saturday morning rather hectic with matts football at the blues pulled forward due to the weather conditions.Had to leave home at 8.45 dropped matt off and had breakfast with a couple of the parents. Karen had to drop Jim off at Stourport Swifts at 9.30 for a 10.30 ko , Joe had to be training with his west hagley u11 s team for 10.00am and luckily little Alecs trainng was called off due to a water logged pitch . We all managed to meet back at home at about 1pm with a few lift helps from other parents to lashings of tea and bacon sarnies.
Sunday morning was the usual mayhem trying to find the boots , shinpads and kits that had been washed and were drying somewhere around the house. They always mix the shinpads up which always ends up in a fight , this week Matt had got jims shinpads on so i found jim trying to yank them off matts legs as matt is screaming . Jim finally got picked up at 9.15 , he was playing at colron in solihull. Matt was dropped off at blues at 10.00 for his game against Stoke and joes was called off due to the pitch . I went off to watch my team play at home in stourport .
Apart from the baggies getting stuffed by Liverpool it was a good weekend with matt beating stoke 5-2 and jim beating colron 1-0. So we met in the local pub and disected the games downing a few beers . Of course matt an jim told me they had played great !!!
We had a quiet monday with just Joe training at the albion development centre in halesowen , whilst the rest of us just chilled out at home. Tues i took matt to the blues whilst karen took jim to his west hagley training in stourbridge.Wed night we decided to have a night off from training, so we cancelled all the boys training with their relevent teams and watched a film under our blankets with a huge box of maltesers....FANTASTIC
m away this weekend on a golfing trip so im leaving karen to ferry and watch as many games as poss (feel a bit guilty) probably wont when i have had a few beers though. An important weekend with jim and joe playing cup matches against top teams and matt playing for blues against coventry city which is now coached by the guy who signed him for blues !!!
See you next week .
6th November
A quiet couple of weeks have been had in the footballing hanson household due to the weather, half term week and a prolapse disc in my own back causing me to have to lay flat on my back for 2 weeks with no driving and no working.
Most games and training sessions were cancelled due to bad weather. The highlight of the past 2 weeks were Jim, Matt and Joe playing for Hagley against worcester school of excellence for their own age groups and the year above. This did prove to be quite funny in one instance where Matt and Joe ended up playing in the same team for the u12s with Joe at left back and and Matt at left midfield both blaming each other for any mistakes made and Matt refusing to pass to his younger brother.
This meant huge arguements as they both tried to give me post match analysis as i lay flat on my back both blaming each other , nearly ending up in fight between themselves.
